Well after the distressing Pulawama Attacks, the roar for India boycotting the World cup is getting louder and sharper.

What do you literary guys suggest – Should India play Pakistan in World Cup?

  2. India should play the game with them in this world cup, however, Indians should not watch the game at all. Why? Not playing with them will ask for penalties for the team India. Why should we suffer because of them again? But not watching the game and not buying the tickets for the game will kill all the revenue for the organizers. Next time onwards they would automatically boycott Pakistan’s team, they simply cannot afford to bear losses. Strategic Win

  7. The 1936 Olympics being held in Berlin were controversial with the World at the cusp of war with Germany. Yet stories of sportsmen conquering racial bias and political fall outs inspire with their heart and sweat spilt on the field (E.g. Jessy James or even Mohd’ Ali). If India doesn’t play Pakistan, would Indian’s want to accept “defeat” even through a forfeit at the hands of Pakistan? I personally don’t think it’s appropriate to hand Pakistan such an easy “victory” no matter what stage of the tournament India and Pakistan meet. That’s not what players have worked their life for and nor do the soldiers. Fight to finish!

  8. I don’t want to make this thread political, but I strongly root that the present leaders return for another term. Rahul Gandhi doesn’t seem to be ready for handling such a nation, especially at a critical time.

    1. Absolutely agreed. If a war happens, it’ll destroy a lot, and will only send the countries involved a few decades back in time. The world can’t afford this. But, as bad as it might sound, a war is inevitable. It is bound to happen, and that’s the reality. We can wish whenever it does, India is under a stable government with prepared forces. I believe in Indian Army, and our government, but with so much politics, we become volatile.

        1. Yeah, that’s why India is volatile at the moment. And, a country like India has never attacked first, and never will. But, we have to pay Pakistan back to what they did, and have been doing.

            1. After reading the statement of Pakistan’s leader, I’m afraid that that does seem to be true. How much of it will be visible to a general citizen can’t be predicted, but let’s hope the parties unite for once and look towards the more important issue than getting in power.

      2. All the efforts in making our Economy a great power in past 70 years will go down in gutter..Look what is left with Syria, Iraq, Afghan even Turkey. Modi is smart enough to Not let that happen anytime soon.

        1. Absolutely. The reason I really wish Modi comes back to power. And, the way Indian Army reacts to this attack will be a major deciding force during the elections. But, as much as there was Modi hype in 2014, unfortunately, I feel many more disappointed people around me with the present government.

      3. At the stage we are right now.. Neither pakistan nor India can afford a war. Truly agreed.. It will cause economic, social and every problem..So We should create a war situation. We should be calm and let the govt. and Army decide what’s best for our country. Let’s hope for the best 👍

            2. No body is in the mood to support pakistan in any form..unlike those anti-nationals..so I hope this will stop soon..Anyways..Wish for the best..Army and the govt. will do the best they can for India..😊

            3. The trade with them is being reduced, and taxes are being increased. Soon enough, Pakistan will find it difficult to buy stuff from India, and let’s be honest. Pakistan depends on India for a lot of things.
              About being in a state of war, I believe that is something inevitable. After attacks, it always feels like a red alert. And, surely, Government will give Pakistan a fitting reply. Not only it’s their duty to, but as a political party, it’s important for them because of electrons approaching very soon, and the last Surgical Strike still being in news because of Uri. They have to do something bigger

              2. That sounds absolutely correct. Hope peace prevails after that, anyhow. Major point of totally eliminating terrorism is if they stop getting financial/logistics support from Foreign country..Trade cuts with India won’t be that much of impact

                1. It’s basically China who’s funding them. And, China is a superpower India isn’t ready to face yet. In case a war happens, China will be in full support of Pakistan, and it’ll be near impossible for us to win it.

                    1. But China is the nearer and the biggest threat of them all. In the past few years, India has developed better relations with US, Russia, France and several others. But, they all have their own war zone at some magnitude. And, they’re quite distant from India, so won’t be of much help. India is quite on its own. Same goes for the countries Pakistan has help with. Gulf has its own issues, so, on a broad scale, it’s only India-Pakistan-China.

                    1. Well, I’m underage by 8 months. But, that is indeed an issue. And that is something which also makes politics worse, as policies tend to target only a certain voting bank.

          1. India Pakistan cricket match is always taken very seriously, with all the money put on it. At such time, the viewers will be even more gripped to the TV for the match, and let’s not forget, our team is made of humans. If they, let’s hope not, but if they do not perform as well as they should, be it anxiety under this high expectations, they can be, unfortunately, welcomed back in an unorderly manner. We don’t want our cricketers to face that. Above all, Pakistan just doesn’t deserve to play with a team like ours.
